I rather stop watchin Youtube, as I actually did , instead of paying for Premium. That's what they want . First they built this platform by doing things well, then they created this addiction to users as many people follows a lot of content creators, then they launch Premium and start bullying users with ads to force them to get it.
I myself reduced the use of YT in 95%, for hours daily , to one , two , videos per week .
Edit: spelling

That is interesting... But how much time has the human race spent watching these videos. 17000 years for one watch of each but, some of those have been watched hundreds of millions of times. It's eye watering.

There was a site that existed a while ago (don’t know if it’s still going) where they’ll pick a random YT video under 50 views, basically showing what’s rarely seen. I saw some hippie chick do some indoor gardening. Even left a positive comment. It was interesting.

And that’s already old lol. About 183 hours is uploaded every minute, ie if this graphic is more than a day old, it’s already 1 million more hours.

If you look at life as a whole through the pattern of information processing, pattern recognition, and environmental adaptation, all life is nano-bots run amok. So far they've been held in check by environmental pressures and constraints, but life as escaped the lab, so to speak. We will either evolve, devolve, or cease to exist. This is an existential choke point. I'm fine with all three.

This has been the hardest lesson to learn as someone that loves content. There's literally too much in the world for me to read, watch or listen to it all in my lifetime. So I have to pick and choose which means I will miss things.
