I dunno. Most people grow as a person as they age. It’s not unlikely she realises what a shit thing she did and that what the dad did was to teach her a lesson.

Well, the dad did not grow as a person, right? He figured that force is better way to explain as apposite to sitting your kid down and talk to them in civil manner.
So yes, I’m order to explain that the stronger one wins its a great lesson and I am sure she will learn

your argument implies that he did not intend to teach her basic human decency before. If she failed to listen the first time, the second step is to apply consequences. Punishment that is related to the wrong is commonly seen as more effective than punishment unrelated to it. Taking away her phone for a month wouldn't have had the same pedagogical impact as this.
Also, judging from how you immediately think that he is a shit parent because of him punishing his kid once, I am pretty sure you are no parent and have a bad relationship with yours or were spoiled as a kid, so not really qualified to give testimony on whether an educational measure is good or not.

A) to prove your point, you made assumptions that he tried before and it did not work, we don’t know that. You are making up stuff up just prove your point. If you have an opinion, it has be based on the facts - not something you made up;
B) let alone the fact that instead of taking about the subject you decided to talk about the opponent (in this case me) again, you are making stuff about me which again you simply can’t know
It’s a very weird kind of logic - you just create something in your head and make conclusions about real situation based on fantasies

Maybe or when she is 18, she will leave the house and he will wonder why she never calls anymore. Kids can have a grudge too.
Should she be punished, of course, but possibly took a to agressive method. But maybe she learned from it.
