Bonus points for choosing a controversial/grey character and not Ramsay or something.

I'm surprised that literally no one talked of Walder Frey. That weasel looking bastard deserves to rot and burn in seven hells over and over again

Now, I don't know if he's redeemable. But Walder is what's keeping his family afloat.

It is somewhat satisfying to know that after he dies (whether that be in the story or not) it's implied his entire legacy and family will basically collapse since he's the only thing holding it together

Just like Tywin and (currently implied) Roose… hmm :)

Yet another reason why he is terrible

True, but I would argue he has set up his family to fall apart. He has had so many children and wives, factions are inevitable. Especially when you add in grandchildren and great grandchildren. Yet he keeps marrying new women. I mean in the world of Westeros whores are a thing if he wants to keep having sex and moon tea is also a thing (not sure how effective it is in canon similar herbal drinks used in the medieval era were not perfect).

He needs to start culling his more troublesome descendants (something Roman emperors and Ottoman Sultans did). Keep the main male inheritance line (but get rid of Black Walder), a few promising spares and the most marriageable girls. I am not arguing from a moral standpoint but from a coldly logical standpoint for someone living in a world such as Westeros.

100% Anyone who can see that their grandchild is being held hostage with a knife and pretty much laugh it off is a monster

I considered adding Walder on my list, but decided against it. He's bad, but not quite irredeemable.

He betrayed his liege lord, who was losing a rebellion against the throne, in order to advance the status of his family. That's pretty much par for the course in a world like Westeros.

Yeah but breaking guest right to suddenly betray and slaughter thousands isn’t par for the course in Westeros.

Out of all the characters out there I understand Walder Fray's motives the most. Every time they choose a side they get spit on.

Fuck Robb the lier, he got what he deserved.
