Yeah I don't think two random redditors got an accurate image of the sun
15 points

You do realize that Reddit doesn’t mean your bad at everything else.
What if these two folks are astronomers or just plain insane for space, and have the funds to take a sick ass pic.
You sound jealous.

What if these two folks are astronomers
I just think it's statistically unlikely, especially considering how wooly it looks up close. If they were astronomers they would have probably identified themselves as such, but instead they defined themselves as redditors. And on top of that they claim it's the most detailed image ever taken, a feat that outclasses NASA's work.
You sound jealous.
Not really, tons of people have done pics of the sun who have achieved more in their life than I likely will, and I applaud them for it. This one just seems a little sus.

And on top of that they claim it's the most detailed image ever taken, a feat that outclasses NASA's work.
They never said that. In the title, they said that they wanted to take the most detailed picture they could capture, with equipment they had access to. Not the most detailed ever.

No genius. The sun doesn't exist at night.

I wish there was a way for me to give multiple upvotes for this because you cited the OP and gave them all do praise. That's rare on reddit.

You can give two! Downvote then upvote post will give two upvotes. No idea why I know this.
2 points
…that’s the same as just upvoting once, since downvoting then upvoting takes away the downvote hence why it adds two. but if you hadn’t downvoted the result would be the same

Wait... some asks for how many hamburgers tall and you based that off the hamburger diameter, i.e. the width? Who the hell is stacking hamburgers eon edge?
How tall is the average hamburger?!? Stop it with the lies!
3 points
You're right, only a crazy man would stack burgers on their sides. It's more like 1,950,874,890 Big Macs stacked on one another using their average height of 9.144 cm.

It's probably more because saying that many earths will immediately make people realize just how huge it actually is. Saying the equivalent metric sizing would be so large of a number that it would be hard to comprehend and then lose its effectiveness, imo.

NASA doesn’t. They fully switched over in 2009 after having used metric for the majority of things since the ‘90s.
