They want to stop animal exploitation and do not advocate for animal welfare when the alternative would be to stop the exploitation altogether, not make it so that the exploitation seems nicer.

I see that you mentioned he only started doing this a few years ago. Domesticated chickens can live up to 15 years. What I'm getting at is- has it even been enough time for him to safely say that he doesn't cull them when his chickens might not even be of old age yet?

Honestly, I'm not sure at the moment. For anonymity's sake I have to be broad here but I actually work in the green energy industry. But I haven't done enough research on nuclear power to comfortably take a stance.

Do you only consider efforts that are paid as work? What about civil rights activists who put in a lot of work and were never paid, most of them never recognized for their efforts?

Thank you. It's disappointing seeing people take shots at others who are trying to make a difference. I guess people only consider things to be work if it's effort given to something they are paid for.

I just like to remind people that they actually do have a lot of power. Our collective power can make change but only if enough of us are aware of the issues.

Edit: that's also a slap in the face to people like Malala yousafzai and Greta turnberg who have done amazing work even though neither of them are very old.

Thanks for the advice. I'll just stop organizing marches, stop reaching out to elected officials, and stop raising awareness on social media because a redditor told me to get off my high horse.

What's embarrassing about using social media to increase people's awareness? Animal rights as well as climate policy have really taken off in recent years and a lot of the reason behind that is due to the larger amount of people that can be reached through social media.
