Honestly that’s great! Electricians make good money!
My point was… you made an assumption about me without knowing me; so I made an assumption about you without knowing you.
Don’t make assumptions about me and how my vehicle is a waste or that I’m a “lazy cunt” without knowing me. I’ve owned this vehicle for 4 months and I plan on owning it for many more years. Just because my driving in 4 months since ownership isn’t justified enough in your opinion. Doesn’t mean that I can’t have it. I pay for it every month. I could choose to pay for it every month and not drive it at all; it wouldn’t matter to anyone.

Not upset. Just annoyed that someone in Europe who probably makes a worthless salary is trying to tell me what to do with my money and my vehicle. It’s pretty hilarious really. You have no satisfaction in your own life. You probably live on minimum wage, in a tiny flat, and struggle to pay your bills every month. But yet… you think you can tell someone else how to spend their money. It’s hilarious. So no, not upset at all. Just pointing out that you most likely live a horrible… sad…. life. 😊
And if that assumption about you upsets you… then maybe you shouldn’t make assumptions about someone else first.

No. And I love how you and the other user are literally breaking down my trip computer by averaging “walk paces” based on the last 4 months of my driving. And somehow 2 people who definitely don’t pay my car payment every month are trying to determine what I should do with my vehicle. Funny.

Are you paying for my car? No, you aren’t. I don’t need you telling me what is a waste and what’s not. I’ve only had my Volvo for 4 months and in those 4 months it’s true; I have not done much driving. I will continue to own this vehicles for many, many more years. And I will continue to pay for this vehicle every month. Therefore, I can use this vehicle however I feel like using this vehicle.

Main reason…. None of my local dealerships has a T8 Recharge on the lot. And I didn’t really want to wait to order one. Not the best excuse or reasoning but the Fusion Red XC60 I got was like the perfect match with the specs and trim that I wanted. I don’t particularly care much about fuel economy (it’s not something I fixate on). But, definitely the next Volvo I get will be an all electric model!

Yes…. That’s the plan. I don’t think anyone else interpreted my comment as me saying I was waiting to buy all 3 models at the same time.

I’m very impressed with my B5 XC60. No complaints with power output and smoothness. The “mild hybrid” system basically just removes the need for a starter. So the stop/start system is very smooth when it operates. It also provides a small electric motor to give boost for quicker acceleration from a stop.

It’s not a dumb question at all. Unfortunately the answer is no. For some reason… Volvo decided that people need to go into the trip computer to see the odometer reading. It doesn’t even show when you turn the car off like almost all other vehicles do. Pretty strange.

Oh no I think your comments are super helpful! I’m sure some people are under the impression that since the B5 replaced the T5 there would be a step up in fuel economy. So your initial comment was a good explanation!

I don’t think anyone’s even mentioned a comparison with the T5

I never even asked what the fuel economy was at the dealership. It’s not really something that I care about. But I know a lot of other users do care so I figured sharing my fuel economy might be helpful!

Although, you going from a T8 with all that power and then getting into a B5 I could see how it would feel very sluggish!

I haven’t felt the engine struggle at all. I think it has plenty of power for daily driving.

Once Volvo releases the EX90, EX60, and EX30 I plan on going electric.

I definitely don’t do strong take offs in my Volvo haha I’m pretty light footed for the most part.
But yes. It’s a little bit of stop and go for traffic. But mostly it’s a lot of stop signs, red lights, etc.

I don’t sit in traffic a ton. But I do almost 100% city driving with low speeds (Below around 50mph).

It’s almost 100% city driving with speeds averaging below about 50mph.

They like to squeeze as many vehicles as they can into a parking garage (more cars = more money). The end result is a lot of vehicles with door dings.

I should have included this haha
Paint correction, Ceramic coating with CarPro CQuartz, I do weekly washes either with Ammo Frothé or the 2 bucket method using Gyeon Q2M Foam and CarPro Reset. Then I use Gyeon Ceramic Detailer (the absolute best detailer/topper I’ve ever used).

This is my first red vehicle. I usually go for blue or grey but this red just stood out to me so much I had to have it. It’s actually really unique because in certain lighting it looks like a deep candy apple red (like in this photo) but in other lighting it can look almost like a metallic orange! I guess that’s why Volvo calls it “Fusion Red”.

I appreciate the understanding. No hard feelings at all. I also get pretty carried away on here sometimes!
I made the post because I always see people on here curious about MPG or asking about MPG in different models. I actually didn’t ask for opinions from anyone at all! I basically just said “Here’s what my mpg looks like”. Kind of just throwing it out there for anyone who might be curious of what almost 100% city/low speed driving translates to MPG figures. But yes, I definitely knew people would have opinions regardless if I asked for them; this is Reddit after all haha
And I also agree with you that vehicles are meant to be driven! It’s actually worse for a vehicle to sit then for it to be driven. So that’s a valid point. I really hope to start driving it a lot more in the next few months.
Have a great weekend as well!
